Because I'm not having any luck with this in solo practice; would anybody who uses magic regularly in combat be open for sparring? If magic-users have any... I dunno, hot tips or suggestions or descriptions of how they typically use magic in battle that'd be really helpful too.

It's light magic. A little something from back home.

I don't use mage's magic, but my anchor-shard is bigger than yours and it does tricks.

I'm happy to practice with you, as well as provide knowledge in spell-casting strategies that I know of alongside what you can do to defend yourself against them. I've... been trying to work on getting better with the staff anyway. [It keeps flying out of his hands, it's not great.]

It helps that I had a friend who reacted the same way to this place.

That's good to know. It doesn't help that it's impossible to tell who knows how to use magic without asking them first.
