SUBJECT: Qunari Dreadnought Retrieval

SUMMARY: Our Naval forces took two teams, manning the Reaper and the Walrus, and went to Brandel’s Reach to retrieve the abandoned Qunari Dreadnought that’s been run aground there. After a scuffle with scavengers, the vessel was secured and towed back to a cove in the Kirkwall area. What remains is to decide what to do with it.

[ while there is a handwritten, paper copy of this report that’s being turned in, the one brought to the crystal network’s immediate attention is read aloud by Captain Vane (including the section names like “Subject” and “Participants” and all, okok). Here’s the main bit: ]

REPORT: Our ships converged on the Dreadnought run aground near the mouth where Brandel’s Reach becomes the Waking Sea.

We found a nest of scavengers taking up residence in the stalled hull, but no organized force. As the Walrus couldn’t navigate the shallows without risking damage to the hull, the Reaper was taken in close to engage the scavengers on the top deck, while our fighters slipped in through the oar ports onto the rowing deck. Killing what was left of the scavengers was simple after that.

Upon inspection, the Dreadnought was as we expected - already picked through and looted, during the time it’s been abandoned there. We found only the barest traces of gaatlok and a cracked, nonfunctioning cannon. The rudder and basic mechanics of the ship were intact, but it took both ships and half a day tying off leads before we could start to tow her back to a cove near Kirkwall.

She remains docked there now, and as it stands, we lack the crew to row the vessel as intended.

The decision for what to do with the Dreadnought will be left to the Division Heads.

[ and it’s been aired here, so everyone else can toss in their opinion, because who doesn’t love a little yelltown? ]
