[There's a short intake of breath as if the person with the crystal is suddenly reconsidering this decision and wondering if it's a bad idea. That's because he is, and this probably also is. The pause that comes after is due to him debating if he should just put down the crystal and walk away or if he should charge on anyway.

The latter, as usual, wins out. Anders clears his throat.]

Good afternoon. Due to... I'm Anders.

[Master speechmaker.]

There is still a great deal of confusion and emotion connected to what I did and the site where it happened. In an effort to try to help, I am offering to answer questions. Ask them if you have them. I don't promise to answer everything. If something seems a deliberate attempt to be rude or provoke, I'll ignore it. But if you've a genuine interest in an answer, I will try to provide it.

[The message ends abruptly so that he can now take a shaky breath and sit down and wonder if he's just been an idiot.]

[There's just a sigh. Just a big, long, drawn-out sigh that seems to go on forever before it finally stops. Really, Anders?]

[He doesn't know who this is and... he doesn't care. He's good. Maybe the person stopped because they passed out. That's an amusing theory he'll keep with him.]

[He doesn't know if he cares to actually say anything, either. So he doesn't. For a little while, at least. But as he goes off to do something else, he can't help but come back to this. Just... why? So eventually, he comes back to respond, in a deliberately cool tone, that of someone holding back more hostile feelings.]

What are you trying to prove, by doing this?

[Oh. It's him. Anders had been hoping just a little that Fenris had joined the other corpses in his mansion in, well, being corpses.]

Nothing.

[He contemplates leaving it like that, just to be an ass. But while he hates Fenris, he's trying to be better than he was, so he continues.]

When a wound isn't healing right, when there seems to be something inside causing issues, you lance it. This was an attempt to help with the healing process. If your next comment is something about it not working, you can kindly get lost as I've already noticed this.

[He'll just keep on living just to spite him. Well, ok not only for that reason, it's just a nice side benefit.]

[That would almost sound reasonable, and were it coming from any other source, Fenris might even agree with the sentiment. Except, arrgh, no, it's coming from Anders.]

That would be stating the obvious. But is it for them... or for yourself that you're doing this?

[A pause.] You know, if that wound never heals, the next step is to sever the affected limb completely. Just... a thought.

Some people try growing and changing, Fenris. You should consider it sometime.

[He doesn't feel like he owes Fenris any answers, and if it wasn't for the message of this, well, message, he'd be more blunt.]

You've grown and changed?

[He scoffs, finding that especially hard to believe. He knows the ways in which he himself has changed, but what point is there in justifying it to someone he despises?]

Then tell me. If you could somehow return to that time... would you change what you did?
