git ur lernin

FORM: Crystal
SENDER: Dame Geneviève De La Fontaine
RECIPIENT: errybody
WHAT: orlesian taking pity on the smallfolk
WHEN: A few days before the Winter Palace ball
WHERE: Halamshiral but everyone can hear it
NOTES: If this generates any actual interest in people doing some prep work pre-ball I'll throw up a backdated log or we can action spam here, I just kind of just thought of this.

[The voice that comes in over the crystal is pleasant, up-beat and obviously a more fake voice than the one she uses in every day conversation. Geneviève's accent is still markedly Orlesian, of course, but she's clearly over-enunciating some things for the sake of the poor uncultured folk with their backwater accents.]

Good evening, men and women of the Inquisition. For those of you who do not know me, I am Dame Geneviève De La Fontaine. I am a chevalier, and until recently I was part of the Empress's palace retinue.

As we are in Halamshiral, I understand it is likely the first time for some to attend such an affair as the ball a few days hence. Especially those of you who have fallen through the rifts. If any should so require, I have a private apartment here in the city, and any even elves, may seek me out and receive some coaching as to how to make it through this evening in one piece. The nobles of Orlais are quick to single out the weak, so any help you get will give you a chance of blending in.

I also have a few gowns that may be a little out of fashion but would be appropriate, and I would be ecstatic to lend them to any in need. I can summon a seamstress as needed to take things in or let them out, I know several within the city, and a few who have been brought in by visiting dignitaries.

I would request that you notify me here first if you are interested in my assistance before popping by. I am not always home, so giving me notice is really in your best interest.

There is an Orlesian dance that involves a great deal of leaping about and twirling. What is it called?

[ here's your to(l)k(i)en pat on the back for including elves. good job, you. ]

I believe that is correct, my lady.

Would you be so kind as to instruct me? I can gladly say I have not stepped on a partner's toes since I was a very small elfling indeed.

I have two questions. [Hi, it's him again.]

Does any of the elf bit involve snipping ears? Are there restrictions on trying on dresses?
inagutterson: (Scoundrel!)

I thought you said you were Orlesian, it's the doglords or the Avvar that they call the barbarians. [Badum-tssh.]

Did I say I was going to the ball? Maybe it's a chance to see if I look fetching in a dress without a lord around to try to batter me like what happened last time I tried.

[You know what he's not going to ignore? You. Congratulations you've won a dwarf.]

I'm trying to be all civil like, no need to get hostile. How am I s'posed to know if a certain shade of purple brings out my eyes and what the fancy name for a certain shade of purple even is?
