Listen to me: I can ask questions too. What are stars made of? Who put them there? Do you think they must have been very, very tall?

Stars are luminous spheres of plasma, most of them are billions of light years away. As for who put them there, well. Depends on who you ask.

[at least she's assuming science here is the same as science at home. maybe they're made out of glowing cats she wouldn't know.]

[ She must be a foreign spirit, because he have a single clue what she's saying. "Plasma" sounds almost Tevene, but billion, that has to be Orlais — and the quickest way to figure out where anyone's from in Ferelden is to ask if they're Orlesian.

It's also the quickest way to start a barfight, but there's no danger of that here. ]

Before I was here, I was in a different galaxy. Maybe different universe completely, I'm not sure.

Different from here. More advanced technology, less magic. This world isn't terrible, but some of the ways people think around here... [Not that her galaxy is perfect, but come on, Thedas.]

There are hundreds of alien races in the galaxy. There is stigma, but I haven't seen the kind of segregation that's expected here. It might exist on planets I haven't been to, but where I'm from everyone is just trying to survive, regardless of species.

Then there's how mages are treated. It's barbaric.

Which mages? Tevinter and Par Vollen would call each other barbaric.

[ He doesn't sound much as though he has an opinion on either. ]

If you put a wild nug in a box, it's fine. If you put two in a box, they'll fight, to figure out who's stronger. But if you add another nug to that, they'll stop. They have to figure it out more carefully.

I've only spoken to the ones from Ferelden, Orlais, and... The Free Marches, I think? [She sounds like she's not totally sure on that name. It's a weird name for a country thinks the girl from the planet Jakku.

The thing about nugs confuses her a little and she pauses for a moment before replying.]

You said there were many kinds of people, where you come from. Here there's just us. And everyone is trying to survive. It's easier to avoid fighting one enemy, when that enemy is one of one hundred.

In Tevinter, mages rule. In Par Vollen, they are kept caged. Here in the country, they burn villages. Who is right? Who is barbaric?
