This is Seeker Darton.

A situation has arisen in Perendale concerning a group of mages who have chosen to sequester themselves in the abandoned Circle Tower. Due to the unusual circumstances at present, in addition to a nearby unstable rift, an investigation is warranted. Not having more information, I request some volunteers to join me and the Templars who have asked to fulfill their obligations to serve: individuals of balanced temperament, skilled in diplomacy, and at least one medic should need arise.

Please be ready to depart within 48 hours.

Can you share further details before our departure?

There isn't much to go on at present. There was a request made of some Templars to do something about the mages before they could act against the city. I find it peculiar in the wording. The nearby rift is, of course, a serious consideration and potential threat to the mages. But Nevarrans hold their Mortalitasi in such high esteem, it seems most odd that they should be requesting something be done about mages. Strange too that they should withdraw from the city and retreat to the tower.

Odd, indeed. I've been to Nevarra and seen their reverence for myself. Do you know if the rift has spawned any shardbearers? Not that we can't bring some of our own, but if any are local and willing, that would make matters easier. Whatever they think about the mages, surely they realize the rift itself as a threat.

You are correct that it is a threat. Both to the locals and also to the mages. I'd prefer not to leave it, but if there are none available, we shall have to do. At least temporarily.

I did not wish to publicly air the particulars, but I find it peculiar that Nevarrans are requesting Templars to flush out the squatters when they hold Mortalitasi in such high regard.

It is shaping up to be so, thus far. I wouldn't object to taking a Rifter along should we encounter this mentioned local rift, but it seems none are available at present.

We are. At least half of our number. There is also a fair number of Templars wishing to keep them safe included as well.

Until we know more of the truth of the matter, I did not think it prudent to take the request simply at its word and merely send in the Templars that were requested.
