WHAT: an announcement regarding Anders/Detlef
WHEN: Backdated/Early Drakonis; three days after Anders' arrest, some of Leliana’s interrogations are already in session.
WHERE: Posted on several public boards throughout Skyhold.
NOTES:
1. This post is for reaction posts and discussion threads, rather than contacting the Advisers, so feel free to do whatever.
2. If your character would contact one/all of the Advisers, please do so in their inbox, or reach out to the respective individual Adviser your character would be inclined to reach out to.
3. In order to keep us/our inboxes from getting overwhelmed it’d be really awesome if characters that fall within a group (such as mages, templars, etc) could contact the Advisers via a representative rather than all reaching out individually. However, with that said we’re also totally here for threading if your character doesn’t fall into a particular subset or doesn’t have a representative they’d go to, or if there’s something else that you think needs to be taken into account. If you’re uncertain do feel free to reach out to us oocly! We’re flexible ;u;

Members of the Inquisition and People of Skyhold,

Precious few of you would be unfamiliar with the name Anders. Even fewer would be unaware of the events of the Kirkwall Rebellion, which commenced with the explosion of the Kirkwall Chantry and the dozens of innocents killed in the blast. The severity of this crime and its impact cannot be overstated. The resulting battles and lives lost reverberate across Thedas to this very day.

Following the destruction of the Kirkwall Chantry, by decree of the Viscount of Kirkwall, Marian Hawke, Champion of Kirkwall, was appointed to judge and sentence the criminal Anders. By the Champion's order, Anders' life was spared.

Three days ago, Anders was uncovered within Skyhold, operating as a healer under the name ‘Detlef.’ Anders surrendered himself to the Grey Wardens and, as one of their order, his fate is theirs to determine. The Wardens have claimed him as their charge and responsibility and, as such, he will be permitted to remain within Skyhold. Under their authority, he will serve out his sentence and pursue atonement for his past actions. Should he become a threat to any within Skyhold, the Wardens will see to his execution.

Under no circumstances does the Inquisition sanction those actions taken by Knight-Commander Meredith and the abuses against mages that took place within the Kirkwall Circle and others across Thedas. Equally so, the Inquisition condemns the endangerment and taking of innocent lives, no matter the cause. No life can be weighed as more valuable than another. However, Anders has already been judged and justly sentenced by the Champion of Kirkwall, and the Inquisition will abide by that decision.

While we recognize that many of you have strong opinions regarding this matter, we remind you that all of you are answerable to the Inquisition. Any acts of reprisal against mages, templars, the faithful, or those who support the closing of the Circles will not be tolerated. Likewise, any person attempting to personally enact justice against Anders himself will answer directly to the Wardens. The authority of the Wardens and the Champion's judgement in this matter are final.

If you really need to bitch to them about it anyway please direct all bitching to Warden Kaisa Daesun, since most of the Wardens are currently out trying to do important things like kill evil magisters.

[The notice was thankfully delivered to Alayre's private quarters. He read it over once and then twice to make certain that what he read was indeed correct. It takes him a moment before the full weight of this message hits him but when it does, there's anger. Lots of anger.

It's a wonder why the Templar hasn't lost his mind already after joining this ragtag group of do-gooders. The Inquisition has proven time and time again to be a complete mess and this solidifies just how much of a mess it truly is. Alayre is beside himself right now and thankfully he's not about to voice his dissent.

If anything, he's placing himself in complete solitude before he ends up just ranting and raving about how ridiculous this all is. It's only morning and he already needs a drink.]
